Andrei Tarkovskij - Stalker

(kuratiert und präsentiert von Rita Macedo)

In an unnamed country at an unspecified time, an illegal guide known simply as ‘Stalker’ takes his two clients, a melancholic writer seeking inspiration, and a professor seeking scientific discovery, into the heart of the ‘The Zone’ in search of a mythical place that can fulfill one’s innermost desire. - ‘The Zone’ is a place of mystery full of obscure traps and unforeseeable dangers, in which physical reality and mental states merge, where things are not what they seem. - The trio travel through unnerving areas filled with the debris of modern society while engaging in many philosophical arguments that reflect upon the relationship between hope and reality, human nature and consciousness. Andrei Tarkovskij (*1932, †1986) was a Russian filmmaker, writer and film theorist, widely considered to be one of the most influential directors in the history of Russian and world cinema. His films explore spiritual and metaphysical themes and are noted for their slow pacing and long takes, dreamlike visual imagery and preoccupation with nature and memory.
